COMMERCIAL WELLNESS
Designing innovative hydrothermal spa & wellness environments.
We work alongside architects, interior designers, spa owners/operators and hotel owners/operators to provide insight into the technical aspects of building hydrothermal experiences—ensuring that your wet area is not only built to today’s most current codes and standards, but also that it’s built to last the test of time.

Our services include Complete Spa Design, Hydrothermal Technical Design, Supply & Build, and Service & Training. For all services, our team works closely with stakeholders to develop a hydrothermal area that fits the budget, spa program and available real estate. All with a keen eye on ROI and profitability.

COMPLETE SPA DESIGN
Whether you’re looking to build a completely new spa or refurbish an existing one, we help develop and design spas from the start to finish.

Clients consult with DFL on the design and refurbishment of entire spa areas, including treatment rooms, retail and reception areas, fitness rooms, hydrothermal areas, water features, and more.

HYDROTHERMAL TECHNICAL DESIGN
DFL often focuses solely on a spa’s hydrothermal features.
Our extensive experience in designing and building hydrothermal areas makes our team uniquely suited to take the lead on these areas.

We develop detailed service drawings and specifications to ensure best-practice solutions are conceived at the earliest stages of the design.
DESIGN PHASES
Working in collaboration with the client, projects are developed through drawings, renderings and supporting documentation to enable a seamless transition when bringing a project to the point of operational readiness.
CONCEPT
DESIGN
We work with client's design team to refine existing plans to ensure first-class thermal experiences are created. All building and equipment requirements are considered, including recommendations for suitable and durable finishes. DFL can also consult on ways to maximize spa revenue and ROI.
SCHEMATIC
DESIGN
We create technical project drawings that ensure everything fits into the space. At this stage, we also provide a schedule of building and equipment costs to assist the client in finalizing the overall project budget. CGI renderings are created to allow the client to visualize the finished space.
DETAILED
DESIGN
Refining the Schematic Design, we prepare detailed floor plans and sectional elevations, provide details for all MEP connection points at feature locations and incorporate supporting documentation for performance specifications. Detailed AutoCad and Revit drawings, including the often overlooked mechanical spaces, are also provided.
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
We confirm all performance specifications and equipment requirements for the thermal spa facilities designed in the Detailed Design phase, including providing construction quality drawings and technical specifications for all facilities and equipment within the project scope.
SUPPLY & BUILD
In addition to the extensive design services we provide before a build, we specializes in the actual installation of hydrothermal wet areas.
Regardless of the size of a project, there are numerous technical considerations in the engineering and building of a spa. From the materials used to ventilation and drainage—we are the experts. We also know the latest technology for lighting, aromatherapy, audio/visual options and building management systems. In addition, Design for Leisure installs the most efficient plant and mechanical rooms (a crucial element of a hydrothermal build that is often overlooked in the early design phases).

All our rooms/cabins and pools are prefabricated using the highest-quality building materials—guaranteed to stand the test of time and also make a minimal impact on the environment. They arrive on site ready for “plug-and-play” installation and Design for Leisure is on hand to project manage the entire installation, working with local and specialist sub-contractors.

SERVICE & TRAINING
Our hydrothermal spa areas are built to the highest standards and require minimum service beyond day-to-day maintenance and upkeep. However, in the event that older facilities require a facelift or any of your existing equipment requires servicing, Design for Leisure is committed to being your trusted hydrothermal spa specialist for life.
In addition, once a project is completed, our experts will provide intensive staff training on the operation and running of all thermal rooms and pool areas.
