DFL Marks a Milestone: 20+ Years of Creating Hydrothermal Experiences in the USA

Collage of Design for Leisure's portfolio

Design for Leisure's team of hydrothermal spa specialists works in partnership with spa owners/operators and architects/designers to bring innovative, European-inspired bathing circuits and bathhouses to life. Founded in the UK by Don Genders in 1991, DFL's clients were primarily based in Europe until around 2003 when wellness leader Canyon Ranch approached Genders to design and build its groundbreaking Canyon Ranch hydrothermal circuit in Las Vegas, NV.

Making Spa Visions a Reality

Over the next two decades, DFL USA, with COO Matthew Williamson at the helm, has had the fortune of working with many of the most recognized names in the wellness and hospitality space. Why DFL? Chiefly because we have a proven track record of making unique spa vision a reality, all while ensuring that design and construction plans meet technical requirements, building codes and regulations required for environments that are subject to such extreme heat and water.

Designed & Built to Take the Heat

Having a hydrothermal specialist on board during the planning and design stages of a spa helps to avoid costly mistakes, especially when it comes to withstanding the strains of water, heat and heavy usage. DFL builds projects that stand the test of time and that consistently deliver a return on investment that we are incredibly proud of.

We have been fortunate to work with many talented architects and interior designers, coupled with bold, forward-thinking investors and developers, as well as some of the leading spa consultants in the industry over the years, both commercially and privately. Our success and longevity are a reflection of the relationships we have forged and, importantly, the loyalty that our work and commitment to quality have engendered. We look forward to our mutual and continued success in creating beautiful spaces where wellbeing and enjoyment are the primary goal.
